So for a year and a half I heard tales of other Boston University students sharing files over the BU network with other users by accessing the Network Neighborhood. I knew that this kind of access wasn't possible on my Mac. Now, though, OS X brags that it can connect to virtually any kind of server - be it UNIX, Windows-based, etc.
All of my file sharing preferences are ON (in fact, I've been FTPing to my computer for numerous other comptuers and it has worked fine), but the Boston U server does not show up on the list when I select "Connect to server..." from the Finder. I've tried both Appletalk and Local Network items and the only computer it ever finds is my own.
Does anyone have any suggestions for me?
