When I go to the system profiler, it shows all of the info except the serial number is blank... is that indicative of a problem and if not, what up wit dat?

Thanks in advance,
Chris

Shouldn't there be a serial#?

It should be the one that shows up in your About This Mac window. Where it says your OS version, keep clicking on that until you see the serial number. It should take 2 clicks to get to it.

If the hardware serial number field would be empty, that is usually after the logic board has been replaced (without flashing the replacement to have the same serial the old one had).
