os 10.1.5 cant see LAN router with ping

I'm using OS X 10.1.5

I was using ssh to connect to a VPN. Now I'm not using ssh or the VPN anymore, and now OS X can't ping my LAN router.
Any suggestions?
 
Perhaps give a bit more info as to how your netowrk is set up so myself or someone else could actually help you.
 
The LAN is just a G4 and a router. There are no other computers on the LAN. When I use the router with a linux or windows PC, it works perfectly.

What is wrong with my G4 osX installation?
Are there any diagnostic tests I can run in OSX?
 
I meant what are your network settings on your G4 and on your router. I can't help you if I don't know how anything is set up.
