OS 10.3 installation help

Hi,

I just got a new mac (second hand) and tried to install my copy of os 10.3 on it. For some reason when it begins booting up to start the installation the grey screen appears with the spiral but the spiral doesn't stop. I let it go for 5 min and it just keeps going.

Any ideas why this is happening

Depending on how old the Mac is, it may take more than 5 minutes. I would let it sit for up to 15 minutes if possible and see what happens.

If you could provide more details on your configuration perhaps we could be of more help. Be specific about the computer and it's specifications (RAM, hard drive, etc.) as well as your copy of 10.3.

Just as a side note, if you have 10.3 installed on another computer from those disks and have NOT purchased the "Family Pack" for 10.3, then you cannot install 10.3 on the new computer -- it is against the license agreement.
 
the mac is a powerpc g4 700 mhz with 348 mb of ram

my old mac is dead so this will be the only one with the mac os on it
