Palm Sync Crashing - Disk Error

My Palm Sync was working before, with my old Clie, with the software I downloaded from palm.com.

However recently it has started crashing consistantly.

Upon crash it tells me to check the logs, and it says that there was a disk error, and I should use some kind of recovery program to fix the disk...

the hotsync logs don't really tell me anything, just shows which apps were being backed up etc.

Are there any types of defrag-ish programs necessary for MacOSX? Where can I find them? Not sure what's really broken here though...
 
Your best bet is to run the Disk Utility in /Applications/Disk Utility. Check the drive for errors, and verify disk permissions while you're at it. You may also need to re-install Palm Sync as the file may have become corrupted with the disk fault.
