partition questions

I am about to initialize, partition, and reinstall OS X. any suggestion on the partitions or anything?

Personally I always partition my main HD (wich have the OS on it)
in two. So I have the OS on one partition and the other partition is for
my Junk.. downloads, misc apps, temporary items.
wich always keeps my system partition clean of "system useless" files..
so it stays unfragmented..

Now, my question for this thread would be.. is OSX as easy to fragment as 9?

I would partition the drive only to put Mac OS 9 on it's own partition. That being said I'd probably be inclined to partition it 50/10 or 55/5 ratio for Mac OS X/Mac OS 9. The Mac OS 9 would be the smaller of the two because of the huge influx of OS X programs being put out now.

ok, here's how I did it:
1 gig: swap
15 gigs: system/apps/home/etc.
5 gigs: games and music
8 gigs: backup
1 gig: classic
~9}
~9}-extra (currently empty)
~9}
