Parts harvesting - iMac G3 ???

Hi,

At our office, we've got a few slot loading iMacs that are sitting around, collecting dust. I'm interested in taking them apart and selling the parts, but I don't know what specific parts are worth selling to people. For a run down of their insides, they're basically the Summer 2000 slot loading iMacs :

I'd appreciate any suggestions in regards to taking care of them, even if it means just sending them to a computer recycling center as is.

Parts? No. You'd be better off selling the whole thing. All the parts inside are old, but the machine itself is an Apple, which increaces the value greatly. You'd be looking at perhaps 50+ bucks minimum a machine on eBay, depending on the model.

People will even a pay a decent amount - say 20 bucks for a broken machine. It's a lot cheaper than paying for it to be recycled.
 
The power/analog/video board is probably the most-needed part inside those iMacs. They are the most common part to fail. In-fact, I'm looking for one right now. If you're interested in selling one or two, let me know.

Second most valuable would be the logic board.

I'll bet you'd get more money selling the logic board and power/analog/video boards separately on eBay then selling whole machines.

There's also a people that put together aquariums from those iMac cases. A simple search on google for "mac aquarium" may yield some folks that are interested in buying the "shells" from you. Then all you really have to dispose of is the chassis and the CRT.
