OK, first, I apologize if there are a billion of these threads. I have been reading up for the past two days and I still can't solve the problem.

I have been running my (mac)computer wirelessly for the past month or so off of a router while the other computer (Pc) is connected via ethernet. Works decently. I want to be wired though because wireless disconnects too much for gaming.

I cannot for the life of me get my ethernet to work. I have had the full traffic light code run through numerous times. Why it does not work while green Im not sure. I have made sure to dissable airport while attempting to use the ethernet. meh. any help would be much appreciated.

Ok, so first you connect your computer to the router via ethernet, then you can go to System Preferences, then go into "network", Click were is says show, and go to Network Port Configurations. Disable Airport and the Modem, and make sure ethernet is enabled. Quit system prefs and open up Safari and try it.

You may also want to make sure the "Built-in Ethernet" Network port configuration loads first.
1) Open the network system preference, and from the second drop down bar, choose "Network Port Configurations".
2) High light, then click and drag the "Built-in Ethernet" port configuration to the top of the list (You may also want to uncheck any unused port configurations).

Hope this helps.
