I have sent a PDF file to multiple recipients. Those using Mac OS get blank pages when the document is opened. Those with Windows OS see the document. What is going on?

How was this PDF created? Any Adobe features in it, like their 'copy protection' etc?

The file was created by scanning the document and saving it in PDF format.
Which software on which computer platform was used to do this? Which software are your Mac recipients using? FWIW, PDFs created using non-Adobe software can behave oddly at times. This is why I use only the apps and utilities of the Adobe Acrobat Professional suite to generate PDFs.

Could it be your scan was saved as a pc tif before you made it a pdf? Or you didn't convert it to CMYK or Grayscale (don't leave it an RGB) perhaps?

It was saved as a PDF. I know this because I sent it to myself and was able to open it on my PC, but it was blank when opened on my Mac.

Is the file RGB when you open it in photoshop?

You won't necessarily know what format it was before it was saved to pdf just by opening it, unfortunately, but if it's rgb that will tell us something, at least.
