Portable Storage Device - Powerbook

I'm hoping to purchase a portable storage device that can transfer images to (without a computer) from SmartMedia/CompactFlash cards, and also act as an external hard drive to backup data from my Powerbook from time to time.

I've looked into the X-Drive II, but I believe it's only USB? I won't get the full potential of the USB 2.0 because the Powerbook doesn't support 2.0. If I drag along with USB 1.1, it would take who-know's-how-many-hours to transfer 10GBs (at least) of data.

Are there any other options available? I'm trying to look for a solution that consumes the least amount of space and reasonably priced.

Thanks in advance!

A G4 Powerbook will use a cardbus USB 2.0 controller card, if you're running at least OS X 10.2.3
