Printer Drivers for "Epson Stylus Color 580" ? ... (for X!)

Epson don't have any on their site .. :( ...anyone know anything about this?! ... anyone have same crappy printer?! ... i loaded Print Centre (never used a printer on X before!) ... went to add / USB / it shows the printer ... but "no driver installed" is alongside it ... < confused >

can anyone help!?

It's not mentioned on versiontracker, but check the gimp-print.sourceforge web site. I think they suggest installing ESP Ghostscript as well.

Something I can't find mentioned officially on gimp-print's site is that it's best to install Ghostscript first. That's a recommendation from someone on one of their forums.

Of course, I could be talking rubbish here as I only got and installed the software myself this week. Make sure you spend an hour actually reading through the relevant pages on GP's site. And then another hour reading everything after installation!

Please don't shoot me if I'm wrong!
