I just got a new cartridge for my HP 1315xi printer. Every time I turn it on it prints out a new test page and wants me to scan it to align the printer. I've done this but can't get it to stop. I have an iMac with Tiger. Thanks.
 
You have an all-in-one. Because it serves as a fax machine, it is expected to be left on 24/7. It is expected to be turned off only in the event of a power failure or necessary maintenance. It is expected then, that it should print a text page when turned back on following such an event. The takeaway message is that you should leave your all-in-one powered up.
