Howdy.
I'm looking for a software-only solution that would offer equivalent functionality to pointing a firewire camera at a section of a screen.
So...
* For input I'd like to Designate a portion of my display for real-time screen capture, much as I would using a program such as IShowU or SnapzPro.
* For output I'd like to have a selectable camera stream, thus allowing me to choose that stream as an alternative to a built-in iSight or external USB camera from within programs such as, say, PhotoBooth.
This would effectively allow me to substitute whatever I caused to be displayed in the capture area as a operational stream for usage in any other program that can take camera input.
Questions:
1) Are there any software utilities that offer this functionality?
2) If not what would be the best tools to consider using in some home-brew solution... short of actually pointing a camera at a screen.
I'm an experienced Mac developer comfortable with very technical descriptions. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!
