Relinking

When I run the terminal's prebind command I get a message for some apps which includes the text "update prebinding - redo prebinding - prebinding can't be redone because larger updated load commands do not fit (the program must be relinked). "
Anyone know if this is an issue which affects performance, and if there's a (hopefully simple) fix? Of course, if it ain't broke I won't attempt to fix it, as my system seems OK.
I'm just curious about this relinking stuff.

The program is linked while it is being built from source - no easy way to relink it unless you have the source code.

Well thanks for that. I use Maintain to perform Cron tasks. Occasionally I run Prebind from Maintain. Most apps prebind successfully, but a few don't, e.g. Itunes & Wacom tablet driver display the message quoted in my first post.
Maybe I'll reinstall them from scratch and see what happens. Any further info would be appreciated.
