Hi peeps I finally got round to replacing my failing DVR104 superdive in my 800mhz Imac G4 with a Pioneer DVR110D I bought a few weeks ago. I did all the usual stuff (Pram, clean, grounding myself, Cable connections, thermal paste etc) and now the drive opens and closes but will not recognise any Cd's or DVD's?
Please help?
I put the drive in initially set to master but this was wrong as on power up the internal HDD (I boot from one of my 2 external HDD as it's shagged) was not seen by OSX and the Drive door wouldn't open. I then changed the jumper to Slave and on reassembly the door would open fine and I thought sorted!
Sadly as I said before no media is recognized DVD + & -, CD, CDR, CDRW you get the picture! I put a disk in and it tries to spin up several times whilst beeping a few times in a low tone but no joy?
Any help is mucho appreciated, I will take the thing apart again tomorrow and double check the jumper settings and report back.
