Rev. D iMac not using external speakers under OS X.

If they were USB speakers, I wouldn't be confused!
It's just normal headphone jack ones! :S
They're just plugged into the headphone port on the side of my iMac, and if I touch a software volume control on OS X, it switches to the internal speakers until I unplug, then re-plug in the speakers!
It doesn't effect OS 9 at all though. It really annoys me, because I prefer to use OS X (I'm simply amazed at how well it works on my 333mhz system with only 96mb ram! It's totally useable! Well, until I launch classic
