hey there im taking a comp sci course in college and the teacher wants us to find out what the xp in windows xp means. can anyone help out???
 
It's supposed to stand for "experience."

I think it works better like this.

I though it stands for eXPected errors. This is why you get a message when an UNexpected error occurs. ;)

Hehehe ... Ricky you are so right.

Actually, as Macs went to "X" .. to be OS X, Micro$oft had again to try to copy everything they could. Thus the M$ next OS had to be XP. Well, at least it's not "OS XP" but still .. don't P on my X!!
 
Zammy....I got that today.

Random error.

Said something like "<filename> is eitheer missing or corrupt. Please replace file to start Windows.
This was random. I switched off my PC, like usual, swithced it on this morning and got this error. I freaked out. I had all my work. Came back 10 minutes later, the error had gone. I hate XP.
