Slow mac tp pc transfer

I am transfering large files to and from mac and pc over a 100m LAN. Im using OSX 10.2 and win2000.

When I transfer files I get a really slow transfer rate, about 10k/s it doesnt make any difference if i use the mac to connect to the pc through a windows share or the pc to connect to the mac through ftp.

Does anyonw know how I can speed this up? It's not our network as I can download from the net at over 1mb per second, to pcs can transfer at fast rates too, its just mac-pc thats very slow.

Obviously something isn't configured correctly. When I've done PC to Mac transfers (FTP client on the PC to Mac OS X 10.1.5 FTP Server), I usually get about 10MB/sec transfer over 10MBit ethernet connection. And I think that is slow, especially when I'm moving Gigs of files. I would suspect that the PC isn't configured properly. For OS X, you pretty much just turn on FTP access in the System Preferences. Other things to keep in mind included IP addresses, where the bottleneck occurs (slowest component in the network). Sorry I can't be of more help.
