There are two new updates available, Cinema Tools 2.2 and Compressor 1.2. When I try to peform the automatic software update (online) they both alwasy fail with the message:

"The Installation encountered a problem. None of the updates were installed. Choose dowload checked items in the Update menu and open the package from the Desktop".

I do this and then the same error message appears, however after closing in Software Updater the packages do appear on my desktop (CinemaToolUpdate2.2.mpkg and CompressorUpdateTool1.2.mpkg) ALONG WITH a bizarre file called @LongLink.

WHen I try to open the packages I get the eroor message:

"The Installer package can't be opened. It is either not executable or not readable".

Any ideas? I'm running 10.28 on a G5 1.6

The double whammy is that neither update appears on the Apple download site...?

Indeed it requires 4.5. I would have thought the Upadter was smart enough to know that i didn't have 4.5. But i think Apple's ulterior motive is to get me to at last upgrade to 10.3.2 first (as that is reuired as well, I only have 10.2.8).

Motivation to upgrade to Panther.
