Some high piches noises and some scan lines

So, two things are happening to my 1ghz g4 powerbook ti.

1) It sometimes has this high pitched noted (I think its an f#8 or something) that randomly comes, usually when I have itunes or firefix open. The noise persists unless I move around in the application (i.e., moving the scroll bars up and down). The noise seems to start at random times, last for awhile and then go away. No idea what it is

2) I started to get some horizontal scan lines appearing. Okay, some is an understatement, lots. When I start up the computer, everything would be fine, but then the moment I move and object on screen, all hell breaks loose. Now the scan lines are tied to whatever action is occuring on screen, but sometimes when the screensaver loads it doesn't affect the screensaver.

Any idea on what is causing this?

It sounds very similar to the iBook logic board issues. When the machine is on and apparently working fine, give the case some gentle taps. You might want to even move the screen back and forth a little. If by doing that you cause the scan lines to appear it's logic board.
