Im unsure as whether this would be a hardware or software issue, but I have a problem with my G4 Powerbook, in that when I first turn it on the is no 'whirring' of the fan, and no 'bong' sound, the computer just stays on the white screen with the grey apple on it and the little grey timer thing going round.
To get the mac to start properly I have to hold down the on/off button whilst it is on the white screen and the computer turns itself off then comes back on with the afore-mentioned 'whirr' and 'bong'.
Any ideas???
Oh, Ive also developed one single dead pixel right in the middle of the monitor - what is the apple warranty policy on dead pixels?
