What, exactly, is sticking a thread?

The thread stays at the top of the list of topics in the forum, no matter how old the topic is.

Basically, it "sticks" to the top of the list.

Yeah... Go into a forum, and you'll often see something stuck at the top. Though, that's no big deal, if all you do is click the "View New Threads" link like me.

That's what I thought. I don't see many stuck threads, though, because most of what I do is through View New Threads, email or searching for my own name (because then I can see posts that people have made to threads I have posted to, not subscribed to, and are no longer "new").
