Surefire way to crash Jaguar...hard.

Finder->Go->Connect To Server

Enter:
ftp://user:andpass@someserver.com [use real information here]

Ive tried this on two different 10.2 machines and it crashed them both. I had to do a hard reboot, couldnt SSH in or anything.

If you use:
ftp://user@someserver.com [it will prompt you for a password]
it works fine, though you can't write to the ftp server no matter who you log in as...

How come Jaguar won't let you write to FTP volumes?

Can't test it now, but I'm glad that we can mount FTP volumes.

Or at least I'm glad that we can in theory mount FTP volumes. =)

By the way is there any FTP manager (like CuteFTP on PC's) that makes uploading files easier?

I have been able to log onto my ISP's "personal" web space using Jagur's ftp feature but as stated before I can not write to the directory. If I use Fetch or Go Live 6 I can write to the ftp directory with no problem.

I'll just stick to ncftp thank you very much

Its just annoying that the feature half works... maybe in 10.2.1 [i should send a bug report so at least they know about it]
