I use perl to iteratively execute equations and generate fractals as I independently study chaos theory. Obviously, this takes a lot of time, and have searched for a module that would allow me to make the computer emit a system beep when it is done. I have searched CPAN for such a module, and have found none for Macintosh. Any ideas? Please, don't waste my time by telling me to use a different language.

Total shot in the dark: if you're running in Terminal, does echoing Ctrl-G to the screen work? It does VT emulators...

Let the record show that "\7" *IS* the escape sequence for Ctrl-G.

So I was right also.... ;-)
