i guess the problem is more or less myself... but i have 3 questions

im running 10.1.5

1.i have been trying to get php to work on my system for 2 weeks now and its getting rather frustrating...

heres the problem:
I follow all the tutorial(http://www.entropy.ch/software/macosx/php/) properly but when the terminal window asks for a password i try and type it in and nothing happens...

what am i doing wrong and is there an easier way to doing this??

2. is anything else needed prior to installing php?

3. is cgi already activated if not is it necesary?... cause i dont think i will be using it anytime soon

From the tutorial page you linked to:

"It ONLY runs on Mac OS X version 10.2 (Jaguar)"

Hence, you'll need to either update to 10.2, or follow the how-tos for installing php on this board. The version you are attempting to install will not run on your system.

3. cgi/perl is already active out of the box for the apache server on osx. I'd leave it there because it is terribly useful once you get to know it.
