Thumbnailer programs?

I'd like to make thumbnails of some pictures to post on the web, but none of the shareware programs I've come across so far are exactly what I'm looking for. Some don't let you specify the exact dimensions (e.g. 60x60 rather than simply 60 as the max height or width), some don't let you choose the file name (rather they automatically attach something like -thumb.jpg).

PICStation 1.3 is the closest I've found, but I can't get it to give me the exact suffix I want (it's doing picture.-sm.jpg instead of picture-sm.jpg like I want). I only have the demo and I don't want to pay for the full version if it's not going to do what I want.

Does anyone have any suggestions for programs that can fit my needs, and/or a way to fix the PICStation problem?

Any help would be MUCH appreciated. Thanks!

I wrote a php script that takes a folder of images and creates dynamic thumbnails complete with back and next buttons....

check out my site to see it in action.
Go to www.sickdimension.com and then click on one of the 3 production stills in the center of the page. It's not 100% yet, but if you're interested, let me know.

I know Photoshop has batch-processing capabilities (I've used them), and I'm sure Elements has them too. Try the Elements tryout and see if it'll work. It costs more than shareware, but it's an excellent product, and it's perfect for web work.

While Photoshop's Automate\Web Photo Gallery is what I generally use, it's not the cheapest.

TRY iPhoto!!!!!
1 Select the Album you want to have thumbs of
2 Choose File\Export and then the WEB tab
3 it gives you almost all teh flexibility of Photoshop's version, and here, it uses the captions and titles you enter into iPhoto.

I actually just stumbled onto this the other day while playing around.

at the very least it will create the thumbnails in whatever pixel dimensions you desire.

also "Image Indexer" does it. I like that program - it's in versiontracker. Really small, fast and freeware.
