Tiger Startup Items

I am new to Macs. I recently installed Stuffit Deluxe and it added a "Magic Menu" to the toolbar at the top of the screen for quick start purposes. As in windows, does this affect the performance of the system? How do I prevent it from automatically starting when Tiger boots up? In Windows, I would just go to the Startup folder and delete the entry. Is there something similar in Tiger?

Startup Items can be added/removed here: System Preferences > Accounts > Login Items

You can also remove the menu from the menubar by holding down the command key and dragging the icon out of the menubar. This will not affect the startup item, though.
