There is no tilde in italian keyboard. Thus, tilde = what as alt - something ?

I know these but not tilde itself ...

alt-e for ´ >>> á é í ó ú ´
-i for ˆ >>> â ê î ô û ˆ
-u for ¨>>>> ä ë ï ö ü ¨
-n for ˜ >>> ã ñ õ ˜
-` for ` >>>> à è ì ò ù `

also. in the italian kb .. there is ' but not to the other direction ...

The easiest approach would be to open /Applications/Utilities/Keycaps (or whatever it might be named in the Italian release,) and start pressing various modifier combinations until you spot a tilde. That's usually how I find some obscure symbol.

i enabled the charmap from sys prefs > international > keyboards, so i just need one click on finder to get the gamma map. .. BUT i want to know even a faster way. = what kestrokes are tilde.

Well, if a keystroke does exist for your current layout, then Keycaps is a surefire way to find it.

Just as a reminder: This sure beats the hell out of ALT+255 char code.

Damn Windows is stupid...

Of course windows is stupid! Why to log off and shut your machine you need to click on start? :)
