Help! On Saturday we had a power outage while my computers were running. I'm on a fairly new iMac running 0S X.2.8, and it was networked with my PC. When I booted, all the menus & Apple were missing from my screen. I rebooted off a Norton Disk and ran disk doctor. When I was able to get onto the Mac again, I also repaired permissions, zapped the pram, went back to Norton and reran disk dr. and then speed disk. But now, every time I throw something in the Trash it says it will be deleted immediately. I can't figure out how to get it back to normal. I threw out Finder prefs, didn't make a difference. Also, when I first boot up in the a.m. my Mail asks for the p/w for every email account I have set up. I click "remember" every time, but it doesn't. I'm also asked to unlock my Keychain, but that doesn't remember the next time I boot up. I've tried logging in under another name, and the Trash works fine, so it must be a preferences problem. What do I do? I can't trash ALL the prefs, I'd lose a lot of my acquired data such as email, bookmarks, keychain, etc. Right? Is there something I can do to fix this?
