hello, i just bought my used (but in excellent condition) Powerbook G4 AL 1.25Ghz with factory 512MB RAM, i ordered 2GB of Mac RAM Direct.

i followed all the usual RAM upgrade steps (turning off the machine, taking out the battery , carefully opening the ram lid and carefully removing the modules)
then i placed my new 1GB PC2700 333Mhz DDR SO DIMM's in and reassembled the machine,i hear the startup chime and the screen doesn't com on everytime, i have to restart it then when it finally shows up , it freezes at the log in screen.

i thought i'd post a thread since i didnt see any other with this problem , and everyone here ALWAYS helps and is kind, so thank you if you have any idea on hwo to fix my problem, i'd hate to lose $230 bucks on a machine i already spent $750 on.

PS- my powerbook is a 15.2", and it works with the 2 256mb factory sticks, im posting this on it now.

once agian , thanks for any help!

Well put the original RAM in see if runs normal. If it runs normal then put the original back in and run memtest (GUI for memtest is called Rember) on it to determine which RAM chip is bad. This way you have move ammunition when you send back the defective RAM from where you bought it.
