USB for iMac LAN?

Hi,
Anybody know if it's possible to connect a brandnew flat panel iMac (MacOSX 10.2.4) to a rev. E iMac via USB to make a LAN or at least make the old iMac function as an extra harddisk on the desktop of the flat panel iMac? And how?

Tks in advance,

If the old iMac has firewire you can mount the old one by plugging a firewire cable into both machines, then booting the old one holding down T. But it might be too old to have FW...

Wait, but what iMac doesn't have its own ethernet port? Isn't the entire point of an iMac to be ready for the internet? ;) If it does actually have an ethernet port just get a hub and network them.

There's no analogus USB protocol to FireWire target disk mode (what I described above).

Exactly what iMac are you talking about (I don't know a rev E)?

All iMacs have an Ethernet port. Use that to connect to your LAN, or connect the two machines with an Ethernet Crossover cable.
