User question & "Terminal" problem

Hi guys...

When I right click on any folder, I click "get info". Then I move down to "Ownership & Permissions", and then 'details'.

Under "details", when I click on the scroll-down list of 'owner' and 'group', I have all these users/groups that I never created. I only recognized my user name.

My question is, how do i delete these users? And is it okay to delete them?

Second question...

When I try to open terminal, it appears in the dock, and after a few seconds, it quits. Help?

The names in the 'Owners & Groups' are the system, installed by and part of the System. Do not try removing any of these.

For Terminal, trash the 'com.apple.Terminal.plist' located here;

user>library>preferences

Hi...

and I trashed that file...the problem with Terminal still occurs

Repair Permissions with Disk utility and see if that helps.
