Anybody had success installing Red Hat Linux 9 in Virtual PC 6?
I downloaded the install images from the Red Hat website and created an empty PC drive file. I configured the new PC for a linux installation, captured the disk images and then booted up the new system. The Red Hat installer started up and ran fine throughout the entire process.
At the appointed time, I configured the video for 800x600 at thousands of colors (16 bit). The installer reached the end without incident and it came time to re-boot the system.
I re-booted the system, it started up fine, ran through the normal check-out process then switched video modes to SVGA 3200x600. Needless to say, that's not right! The display (in windowed mode) appeared like a monitor out of sync range.
I trashed the drive file and started over. Any ideas?
Maybe I'll try Mandrake Linux instead.
