What's the little, round, progress, spinny-thingy called?

rharder

Do not read this sign.
You know that little round circle thingy with the arrows that chase their own tails that Mail.app and Finder (among others) use to indicate work being done? Does anyone know what that's called and if there's a nice widget available for it? I'm surprised it's not in the Project Builder.

couldn't agree more.

somewhere i read that some cocoa applications just had a "static" image of the chasing arrows and rotated that view instead of using the carbon implementation. (was too lazy to verify whether that's true.)

sounds like a feasable workaround until we're given all the nice toys. ;-)

I haven't had much luck rotating the NSImageView, at least not in a useful manner.

Hope we can be lazy and get one from Apple.

OmniGroup's OmniAppKit has a chasing arrows widget. It's not as slick as having a widget in Interface Builder to pull off the palette but it works.
