Writing to SD card through Printer

My printer has slots for media cards. When i insert my SD card it mounts on the desktop but doesn't allow me to write to it, only read. Is there any software that would allow me to do this? Or is there any other way besides getting a usb card reader?

I doubt you'll be able to write to it when inserted in the printer. The printer is controlling the card and it would be read only that way.
