wow, you really dug up an old thread. you should of started one of your own. but as for itunes, as long as its not plain old usb 1.1, itunes will not notice the interface speed. so get which ever is cheaper.

i just recently got my amateur radio license (general class), and a nice handheld radio (a kenwood th-d7ag). not only am i looking for some fellow mac hams to make contact with, but also see if any know of any good ham software for the mac that i can use with my handheld, or even without.

where did you get the panther disk? is it a retail install cd, or is it a restore cd? many times, if its a cd that came with a different mac for the purpose to restore it to factory fresh install, it will only work on the mac it came with.

used software update, and all is well. didn't notice the eject delay because i don't use an apple keyboard, so i always have had to hold it down to make it work. i hope 10.5 is close out.

since when? my ipod is windows formatted, and works just fine on my mac.

the problem is that the geforce 2 cannot drive that monitor. it just doesn't have the power. you need to upgrade the video card to use that monitor.

well, with all the problems 8.5.1 had, it doesn't make any sence not to upgrade to 8.6. with it being free to do so, that would be the 1st thing i'd try. then i'd also make sure that no other printer drivers are being loaded just to make sure there are no conflicts.

how large is the partition? you need at least 4gig. also, os x likes to be on the 1st partition on most of those older macs.

yes, or controller can't see anything over 127gig, as its too old. and with an ibook, there isn't anything that you can do about it either.

well, going off what i remember from the size of your ipod, its old enough that it is one of the ipods that you had to buy for the platform you were going to use it on, and that it was not possible to format it for the other platform. or in otherwords, if you plug it into your mac, and itunes...
