Laserjet 6MP via AsanteTalk to Router?

The Asantetalk is an ethernet-to-localtalk bridge device. It doesn't understand TCP/IP and can't have an IP address. It passes appletalk only. Many people have found that they must power cycle (ie, Off then back On) everything in the chain - printer - Asante - router - in order to get the...

    IP printing in leopard

For your model (a postscript and PCL printer), you should try the Gutenprint and hpijs alternative drivers: http://www.openprinting.org/show_printer.cgi?recnum=HP-LaserJet_2300dn http://gimp-print.sourceforge.net/MacOSX.php http://www.linuxfoundation.org/en/OpenPrinting/MacOSX/hpijs When...

Transfer pics and video from Sony Camcorder model no DCRA-C171 to imac

You're going to have to help us help you. I don't find much about that camera on the web -- I guess it's discontinued? Is it a tape recording camera or hard drive or DVD? Because it uses a Dock, I guess you plug USB from the dock and the camera appears on the Mac desktop like a hard drive? Oh...

Help needed getting my DELL 5150 to see my G3 running OS 9.2 ?

I use NetPresenz FTP server for OS 8/9 Macs running legacy software: http://www.stairways.com/main/netpresenz This allows both Mac and PC clients to "grab their data" from the old Macs. If I remember correctly, you can connect for AFP file sharing from OS X if you go to the sharing control...

    printer sharing problem

I know that Satcomer didn't mean AFP - for printer sharing... You can experiment and try one of the other 4 protocols that OS X allows you to share a printer with. Try adding the printer using (in Print & Fax after clicking +) IP > IPP, enter the IP address plus the queue name on the...

Problem connecting to wireless print server

You're welcome! Just for my info, are you using Leopard? I haven't done this setup with Leopard - only Tiger.

Problem connecting to wireless print server

You have two problems - the setup to the print server (because we don't have auto-setup software); and driver (Epson didn't provide a driver capable of network printing, so we use Gutenprint). Make sure you install the latest "CUPS" driver for the Brother. Update your Gutenprint drivers (for...

    A1 paper size missing

I'm pretty sure ora had in mind that you should select the "format for: your printer" in Page Setup before trying to go to the print dialog. Did you do that?

    System Preferences - Network Problem

Looks like the fixes (3-4 different ones that mostly result in pref files being recreated) worked for everyone who tried. http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1920756&tstart=0 http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1730909&tstart=0

    Opinion please guys

I think you mean the Mac Pro instead of the PowerMac G5? The G5 isn't made any more, and upgrades are going to be getting scarce.

    System Preferences - Network Problem

Simbalala, What you have done is troubleshoot your particular case to be a pref file in the [your_user_name]/Library/Preferences folder. I'd guess the bad file will be com.apple.systempreferences.plist, but it could be some other com.apple.xxx file (like com.apple.systemuiserver.plist)...

    System Preferences - Network Problem

This problem is caused by Security Update 2008-06. Go to Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration and drag NetworkInterfaces.plist and preferences.plist to the desktop (& to the trash after you're sure this works). Restart the Mac. Now try Network prefs. You should set up a new "Location" after...

Cannot print to wireless Epson apple say problem is I don't have airport.

Firewall settings will definitely Not help. A firewall stops requests from the internet, not from inside your local network. I guess it's possible that security is the problem - like, printer only capable of WPA, but router and computer using WPA2. You'll have to check that - I don't have...

    Having Connection Problems!

It sounds like there may be another router close by or, someone who uses a cordless phone, or a microwave oven - all of which can interfere with wifi signals. One other question - in network preferences > show Airport, do you have interference robustness On , and do you have it set to connect...

Cannot print to wireless Epson apple say problem is I don't have airport.

Let me know if you can access this: http://macosx.com/tech-support/cannot-print-to-wireless-printer/339731.html Please don't forget to read the Epson instructions for setting up - I think your printer may also be one of those where you need the printer temporarily connected by USB in order to...

    Wireless signal strength problems

Older cordless phones used the same (almost) 2.4 GHz freq as wifi b & g. Microwave ovens are near that, too. If that's not it, maybe just a new router will do.

    Wireless signal strength problems

Still sounds like interference to me. Did anyone move into the neighborhood who might have an older wireless phone?
