    G4 iBooks

As, ElDiabloConCaca mentioned, this is most likely a G4 from IBM, basically a G3 with AltiVec.

    Next revision of G5 specs

I was thinking the same thing, that's why I thought of dual 2.5 and MWSF does sound more likely. Where is your proof of this? Yes I know that this is the case now, but upping the system bus is not as trivial as upping the CPU freq. The only reason the 2 current lower models have slower...

    Next revision of G5 specs

I have been waiting for newer G5's to come out and am curious as to any predictions for the G5 specs for all 3 models? Also, when do you think it will happen? Here's my predictions (I hope :)): 1.8GHz PowerPC G5 -- $1799.00 900MHz frontside bus 512K L2 cache 1MB L3 cache 256MB DDR400...

    "ls" command question?

Ok, here's a real stupid question: How do I tell the "ls" command to output my data in 2 columns? This is what I've already learned that will not work: ls --width=45 (this works but is not reliable since the output size can change) ls -1 (this outputs in single column...

My monitor doesn't support a certain resolution in Panther

As far as what RacerX says, I second what Zammy-Sam said. Also, fryke, thanks for the feedback! I am once again at work and will try SwitchResX when I get home. I tried PrefEdit and didn't find any settings that had to do with resolutions. I hope SwitchRes works in Panther, it sounds like a...

My monitor doesn't support a certain resolution in Panther

Yeah, that monitor would support that resolution (nice monitor BTW, how much was it). I'm convinced it's not going to change because it's been like this in every build since WWDC and with such an old monitor, this is just an oversight that will continue to be ignored. I would bet a 100 bucks...

My monitor doesn't support a certain resolution in Panther

The a75f is a CRT and does support 77Hz in all OS's at 1152x870 according to ViewSonic: http://viewsonic.com/support/crt_a75f.htm My a75f has supported this resolution at 75Hz in every OS I'v ever used it on, except Panther!

My monitor doesn't support a certain resolution in Panther

I finally got a chance to test out Panther and I am really excited about most of its new features. But there is one major problem that will keep me from switching! Here's the problem, I cannot switch to the resolution 1152x870 at the refresh rate of 75Hz. The only setting I can use is 60Hz...

How do I verify how many CPU's I have in the Terminal???

How do I verify how many CPU's I have within the Terminal??? Actually I am at work on a Linux machine and need to verify if my Linux (SuSE) installation is recognizing both of my CPU's. If I could work with Macs I would, but I can't, but I need to do this because I am a QA tester for AMD. Any...

Niether the mouse, keyboard or monitor would need a power cable! Why? This is why: http://www.mobilewise.com/ Hopefully Apple may in the future implement something like this. I could imagine this being embeded in planes, starbucks and all other kinds of places! So cool about the mouse and...
