Some UNIX geek here needs to write up a [HOW-TO] zip files, folders, etc via Terminal As it is, I don't know how to create zips (for free) and therefore I have a hard time sharing files with other people (read: Windows users). :cry:

I have some files I need to work with in Terminal, but they are located on an external drive. I can't figure out how to navigate to that drive! How would I go about doing this?

Is this possible? I have Safari so it takes up the entire screen, but when I click on a link that opens a new window it is slightly to the right so the scrollbar is off the screen. I'd prefer to have the new links open up in new tabs, but stopping the tiling effect would work as well.
