Vote "Think Different" - Madison Ave. Ad Hall of Fame

Actually I agree, at least as far as the general market appeal of the phrases. We, as Mac users, understand what the phrase means to us. "Think different" probably means nothing to the person on the street. The failure to esttablish that sort of meaning is why the campaign failed. Contrast...

Vote "Think Different" - Madison Ave. Ad Hall of Fame

I voted for Think Different too. Sort of Off Topic: A few weeks back I had some spare cash and used it to purchase one of the posters associated with that campaign. I got the Jackie Robinson one.I wish I could afford the Amelia Erheart oneas well. Why? Well here's the reason: El Diablo...

Vote "Think Different" - Madison Ave. Ad Hall of Fame

There are several other memorable ones left out of that list. One I remember was by the DuPont coporation, "Better living through chemistry." I know that one sounds kind of dull, but those of us who came of age in the 60's remember how we gave that phrase special meaning. :D

    Jobs Had Surgery

It's now been ten years since I had surgery to remove a tumor, which was in my colon. I wasn't past 50, and I had always consumed lots of fiber: veggies, fruit, and bran. There was no family history of the disease. So it was something that shouldn't have happened. But it did. The oncologist said...

UK iTunes Music store IS NOW LIVE

Let me explain: that paragon of corporate virtue, Microsoft <Microshaft, Micro$oft, etc.> is headquartered in Redmond, Washington, a suburb of Seattle. Thus ends today's geography lesson! :D ;)

UK iTunes Music store IS NOW LIVE

Obviously a trick to get you to buy them all. :p ;) So there arre some rough spots in the implementation of the iTunes store in europe. Not a surprise. Any new endeavor is bound to have some problems. The U.S. store wasn't exactly perfect at the start, and the initial library was less...

    Real Audio and the iPod

Thanks for the information. Very interesting. So what Real has differs only in its DRM features. Well then it wasn't much of a stretch for them to extend their player to include access to iTunes. But this is sort of a switch for Real. Weren't they one of the laggards as far as developing for...

    Real Audio and the iPod

I agree. But Real has this proprietary format ".rma" I think it is. Well to avoid having that look like a flop, a simple matter of offering an export option in their player.

    Real Audio and the iPod

:o I should have put iTunes in the title instead of iPod. Here's a link about the services available using their player. I had noticed Real is adding AAC support to their player. I had wondered if Apple would perhaps reciprocate and add support for Real's propriety format to either...

    Real Audio and the iPod

There has already been a thread about the deal between HP and Apple, and what this means about WMA support. But I am wondering about this Cnet article. Why do you think Real would be doing this? No reaction from Apple as far as I know. It's almost as if Real was considering abandoning...

Hell Freezes over Part II?: WMA on iPod, thanks to HP?

Some of the responses posted below the article show clearly that many who read that article know the author is full of it. of course those posts were not up to the literary standards of this forum! :D

    Walmart's answer to iTunes

There was a review of the service published this weekend which stated that the service was buggy. I can't seem to find the link! Oh well. I think it is important to remember that this service is still considered a "beta" and won't be operating in it's final form until February. But...

    Walmart's answer to iTunes

Let us not forget the value of the tie-ins, especially one which will be promoted during the Superbowl. If lower cost iPods are announced today, those plus the Pepsi promotion might be the 1-2 punch. Of course i would prefer a Budweiser tie-in. :D

    Walmart's answer to iTunes

I installed Windows Media Player 9, then downloaded the sample song. It played well. The problem seems to be is that this is oriented towards windows users. In fact, the site implies it won't work with anything else. But a least as far as playing the songs, apparently not. However, there...
