Some video podcasts will not sync to iPod 5.5 gen

Well, they came from iTunes, did not say they were for iPhone, Apple TV, etc., so they should play. All of the other ones do. When I "get info" they are either quicktime files or MP4 (or is it M4P -- I never can remember). When I try to convert them via iTunes, there is no conversion offered...

Some video podcasts will not sync to iPod 5.5 gen

I have subscribed to many podcasts through iTunes, some videos as well. Things have been going along just fine, but recently, I noticed that some of my video podcasts are not showing up on my iPod. One is a new subscription that only has videos starting in January 2008, one has many episodes...

    Importing pictures into iphoto

There is an option to have iPhoto import all photos into iPhoto Library-- not at the mac right now, so can't look, but check in preferences. You can also set Photoshop to be your extrenal editor, so that when you open a photo to edit, it will open Photoshop, you can edit and when you save it...

    copying iphoto albums/folders

Not at the mac, so can't say for sure, but seems like when I export and choose my desktop, I am given an option down in the lower left of the pane (where you choose "desktop") that says New Folder. You can create a folder from there and put the photos into it.

    copying iphoto albums/folders

Use the "export" command rather than dragging and dropping. Should be able to export album by album to your desktop and then burn using Toast. The burn function is iPhoto is, indeed, meant to be used with iPhoto -- structure etc, will only be usable in iPhoto.

    IPhoto - Thumbnails not displaying

Look in the Apple knowledge base support for rebuilding the library, Look here: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=107947) and scroll to the bottom. It will give you an option for manual rebuild -- try that. You may well end up with duplicates, but it is better than nothing I...

    Delete iPhoto from iMac or.......

For deleting duplicates, try iPhoto Diet. Haven't checked to see if it is Leopard compatible, but it does a really good job. Just be sure to read the dialog boxes and understand exactly what you are telling it to do.

    can't find photos in iphoto

Have you opened iPhoto to look? Do you have an iPhoto library in your pictures folder in your home folder? Those are the first places to look. Let us know what you find, and we can probably help. I seriously doubt your photos are gone. They would not likely be in the Previous System folder...

    Recipe Book/Box/Management Freeware?

I use YUM! and like it very much. Pretty simple to use. I especially like that I can copy and paste ingredients, directions, etc. from thinks like emailed recipes, recipes on websites, etc. Some I have looked at don't allow that and one would have to type them all in manually.

    Time machine hints

Well, if I unpartition it, I'll lose my photos and music. I do have another backup of that, so maybe what I should do is re-partition to 3 partitions -- one for TM, one for SuperDuper and one for photos and music? Then I'd have to do the same scheme to my second external (I use that for...

    Time machine hints

I have not received my copy of Leopard yet, so want to be prepared. When you start it up, does TM automatically come up? Do you get to tell it where you want your backup to go? I have an external that is partitioned so that I can have a clone (SuperDuper) and on the other partition I have my...

    Clean up copied text

Another option would be to "select all" (Cmd-A) and then Cmd-U (probably twice) until all is non-underlined. The Paste Special is quite good -- removes all formatting, so you start with a clean slate. I use it all the time at work (PC, though).

    Recording things streaming from iTunes.

I use Wire Tap Pro -- can also be scheduled to automatically record at predetermined times.

    Quicken - Delete Duplicate Transactions!

Do your financial institutions not work with direct download? That is the best way to not have duplicates. Otherwise, do as Whitehill suggested and work on your date ranges. Or, maybe just download the "current statement" once a month when you statement closes, rather than several downloads...

    New iPod Touch--question

Along those same lines, when in a hotspot, can I access, for instance, my webmail? Can I send email via webmail? Is Safari on the iPod touch? In other words, does the "whole" internet work?

    i photo

Where were you when you rotated the phtos, made albums, etc.? Were you in finder? That would cause the behavior you are experiencing. NEVER mess with photos in the library in finder, you will lose, corrupt and otherwise create havoc with your photos. If that is what you did, try rebuilding...
