12" powerbook to display on TV

My 12" PowerBook (1.33 Ghz) came with two adapters (mini-DVI to DVI, and mini-DVI to VGA). No S-video or RCA connector. I had to buy a mini-DVI to RCA/S-Video adapter an at Apple Store (19.99 U.S. bucks). For the audio, I took a minijack to RCA adapter. I used it for a college...

transfering from the desktop mac to powerbook

If you're going to keep both Macs, consider purchasing a FireWire cable. I did, and I've only used it once, but I'm considering using it more often now that I'll start using my other Mac to hold my back-ups. Back to your problem... are both computers part of a network? If not, do you at...

    Wireless Annoyance!

Is it possible that you must register your computer's MAC (Media Access Control) address with the university before you can access their wireless network? That may be the case.

    firefox + imdb.com trouble

Where did you get it? Here? That's where I got my special version of FireFox and the site at issue loads fine. But all I did was download and run... I didn't mess with Terminal. I may have missed a step in the installation process.

    Anyone heard of 800hosting ?

You pulled a funny there... :) Really, what are your needs? I get about 200 visits, 1000 hits daily and I'm barely using 150MB of webspace and 500MB bandwidth.

    Anyone heard of 800hosting ?

That might be overkill. Note how the 6.95 deal does not offer AddOn domains. I think you're more likely to need the AddOn domain feature than a gigabyte of space, or 50Gigs of bandwdith. Also, based on a quick google search, it seems that company has not been in the business for a long time...

    Anyone heard of 800hosting ?

I'm getting the impression that there isn't even a control panel. If my impression is correct, damn... that certainly sucks.

    Anyone heard of 800hosting ?

Here's someone's opinion of 800hosting What are your needs? Right now I'm having a hard time keeping myself from signing up with asmallorange.com, even though I still have 6 months left with a great webhost, icdsoft.com. The differing factor here is the max. size of email attachments, their...

Diverting emails from my Gmail to my .Mac email?

No, it isn't. But I'm one of those people who would rather have Mail.App check one catch-all account, rather than have many accounts being checked unnecessarily. This is very particular to my needs, given that I don't get much mail to begin with.

URL sites ending in .tk not accessible Safari

macwizard.tk is in fact taken. It leads to http://home.earthlink.net/~themacwizard/. Yes, it has been pulled. IMO, it's more likely that the person who registered the macwizard.tk domain lost interest (or is no l onger an Earthlink customer), rather than Earthlink pulling it due to...

URL sites ending in .tk not accessible Safari

I visit a tk site. It works: costachica.tk. Each country (or at least most of them) have its own top-level-domain. There's ".ca" for Canada, ".us" for United States, and ".mx" for Mexico, to cite three. Tokelau's top-level-domain is... .tk.

how do i change network name?

Sadie... I'll have to second the following suggestion: In fact, (if Steve was the previous owner of the computer and there's nothing in it that he or you will need) I'd go as far as reinstalling the software that came with the computer (or upgrade-CDs, i.e Panther) so that you can live in a...

    Wireless networks... using non-Mac hardware

I've owned an Airport Base Station, a Belkin, a Buffalo, and a Netgear. The one that gave me the most trouble was the Belkin. It's also the most cheaplooking of all. I recently bought a Netgear... good stuff. One feature I like on the Netgear keeps computers in your local network from...
