    I dont think your display will cause any problems, it can't really not work with os x... what kind of adapter is it? also, you might check the adapter, if it can be set to different resolutions, you might try another resolution, or if it has an option for multiple resolutions, try that...

    it kind of depends, once you have the movie, check file, and see if you can save it, also there is a usually a little box on the bottom left of the progress bar on the movie itself, that might allow you to save it, otherwise make a quick html file with a hyperlink to the movie and right click on...

    here is a rough way to do it, basically I whent through the source and found the move (shock wave file actually) and created a page on my site that directs to that swf file, just go there, and control click (or right click) and choose save as... here is the link

    OS X's firewall will probably be enough, as for monitoring, if you are just worried about monitoring the web access, there are logs in /var/log/httpd/ to get to this in terminal type "cd /var/log/httpd" (dont forget the first slash) Then see whats in there by typing "ls" you'll see...

    you might try this... booth into single user mode (cmd-s at startup), run fsck -y till no problems are reported anymore, mount -uv / , then run sudo diskutil repairPermissions beyond that, there is always the clean install option...
