Whoa. How Did He Do This???

Amie: you can still have the Cube transition: make another user and activate fast user switching in OS X. Probably no more useful, but at least you don't have to install any other software to see the cool effect ;).

Put on your thinking caps – this is a tough one.

Not actually a solution, but you should consider upgrading the user to at least Panther (10.3), since Jaguar is no longer supported by Apple even for security updates. Tiger would be even better ;)

    OS X Authentication

Why would you want this? Anyone can find out the currently logged in username at any time: it's at the bottom of the Apple menu all the time.

Is the Internet causing German to lose its Capitalization?

I don't think you're wrong, but there's a total lack of capitalisation in most languages online. English is slaughtered daily on forums and blogs; it stands to reason that the same thing would be occurring in German. People are lazy; it's one of the few universal truths :P.

Installing Windows XP on MacBook Pro

Linux just plain can't get into wide circulation at the moment, because it tries to cater for everyone in a way that really only caters for the people who design it, and there's such a bloody culture of technophiles that makes trying to learn the software largely impossible. I can't use KDE...

    Keep window in front...

You used Linux? Well then write a program with that functionality ;). I'd be looking at Application Enhancer (APE) modules for that kind of functionality, but I don't use them personally.

    Stability (Do PCs still crash?)

A good clean XP machine won't crash on you unless you're at fault (99% of the time anyway). The main problem I have is HOW it crashes. BSOD isn't a good thing. I've only ever had one Kernel panic (while playing with System files), and even THAT had the Bezel appearance and explains what you have...

How to create a multipage .pdf?

    core duo vs merom

The MacBook Pro 15" with a 2.0GHz Core Duo processor makes me cry it's so fast. With enough RAM, the MacBook Pro 17" 2.16GHz is capable of Final Cut Studio. Just because Merom is better doesn't make Yonah crap. If Yonah is capable of whatever it is you want from a laptop NOW, it doesn't...

How to create a multipage .pdf?

Renaming songs in iTunes while keeping album order...

I'm not sure what you're saying: if you're referring to the way the tracks appear in the Finder, then you really shouldn't be fiddling in there; let iTunes manage files however it likes. If you're referring to how they appear in iTunes itself, click the "Artist" column and it will order the...

Dog pissed into G5. What to do.

If it smells at all like smoke, skip straight to the end. If not, unplug the computer immediately. Don't try to start it up at all until it is completely cleaned and dried. Inspect the motherboard for little brown burn marks. If you see any, give up and skip to the last step. If you're lucky...

It Won't Get Better If You Mess With It

If you really like breaking things, I hear bricks do wonders. You can also expose yourself to all kinds of nasties by activating the Root User and just deleting a whole bunch of important files (anything in /bin is good for kicks, but it's all good). If you start up holding Cmd+Option+O+F it...

Yep; I came here to post exactly the same thing. Apache likes things cased nicely though, and there's no equals sign: ServerName www.mysite.com

I've had Calculator in my Finder toolbar since v10.3.2 at the very latest (through all revisions of Panther and Tiger since then)

Installing Windows XP on MacBook Pro

I, too, am baffled that you have chosen to name yourself "Waiting for OS X" and then completely remove OS X to install Windows. I also can't understand why you needed to buy a Windows slipstreamed SP2 disc when you could have just installed SP2 yourself on your other XP disc?

    Ctrl+Alt+Del

I don't have a Windows machine in front of me; I can't say for certain. Might be worthwhile testing on a Windows machine (lock the computer with Windows+L, then try it :).
