    Aqua & UI speed theories

Hello. I've been using Mac OS X now for a month or so on my laptop (Titanium/400). Speed is reasonable...in other words, it's faster to use. But we all know that the speed of UI operations isn't what it was on OS 9 or what it is on Windows XP, either. Now, first of all, Aqua has a lot of...

It is not ended yet. Power Mac G4 1400 is coming later today!

Macworld Tokyo is in February. Generally, they use it to announce portable thingies rather than desktops, though. It's possible Apple could opt to announce via a "media event", however, anytime in between, as they have done before. I'm majorly disappointed there are no new (or at least...

Using Type 1 fonts in OSX

Sorry...I do not have a definite answer to that question. You'd have to ask them . However, the OS 9 version of Font Reserve does in fact support MM fonts. There's no information indicating the OS X version's feature set will change, but who knows if there is some kind of OS-level liability...

Using Type 1 fonts in OSX

Hello there. The folks at Diamond Soft are readying an X-compliant version of Font Reserve, which I have been using instead of ATM Deluxe for years on Classic Mac OS.

    OS X and sleep

Hey there. I just got a Titanium/400 cheap, and so I've decoded to run X exclusively on it. I'm using it as a mobile/offline Web development box (PHP/MySQL). Anyway, the way sleep is handled in OS X is annoying me, and before I complain to Apple, I'd like to make sure I'm not being an...

    EA sports games for X

Yeah, a British company (Gremlin) coded a Mac soccer game (Actua Soccer) back in 1996, but then the American publisher (Interplay) had financial problems, and it was one of the titles that was axed. It was going to come out over here as "VR Soccer", but finally the only way you could obtain...

    Looking for good pinball games

Hey there. I'm not aware of any OS X-native games yet, but here's all the games we have listed: http://www.gamedb.com/ssps/0/0/00018 You might want to note Angel Egg and TRISTAN, which are both from Little Wing, the same Japanese company that created Loony Labyrinth. I believe you can buy...

    EA sports games for X

Sports games are a touchy subject on the Mac. In 1996, I started a Web site called MacSPORT because I couldn't find any. Then I started the MGDB just to keep a master list of all games, sports or not. As for upcoming EASports titles, none have been announced. Aspyr brought Madden...

    Golf Sims

...a resounding "YES". Links Championship Edition is set to be released later this month, from Bold, the label of former MacSoft head Peter Tamte. The Mac Game Database keeps a constant list of upcoming titles, and we'll even pop you an email when the game is released. Cheers,
