    Help!

I'm making a couple of assumptions here but... 1) Aside from the gaussian blur mentioned before there's really nothing you can do - you can't make up pixel data. To be fair though... when I was technical editor at Publish I did see some very creative use of photoshop to clean up images. 2)...

Terminal slow to launch (Continued from Classic forum)

BLB Here's what I got... can you make any sense of it? Now it's been a long while since I owned black hardware and I've forgotten most of my unix stuff but this looks fine. Yes? Cheers Don [localhost:~] dwilson% file /usr/bin/mkservdb /usr/bin/mkservdb: Mach-O executable ppc...

ftp access over airport and cable modem

Yes, you need to update the Zyxel settings or it won't know what to do with the unsolicited incoming packets. This is true for every router that I've ever seen. Some are just easier to configure than others. For my hardware, 3Com, all I had to do was indicate from a pop-up menu which workstation...

ftp access over airport and cable modem

Peter, Your Zyxel ISDN adapter can do this but implementation is not for the faint of heart and if done improperly can easily expose you to unwanted hacking. Zyxel uses a series of rules to filter out packets and is explained in chapter 8 of your users manual (available from www.zyxel.com if...

    HTML help please

I concur with all the comments above... I do have one more comment though. It looks like someone "borrowed" code from another page which might explain some of the strange tags... etc. I always code new pages from the ground up to avoid anomalies like this. Hope this helps... Cheers don

ftp access over airport and cable modem

No problem.... what kind of cable modem and which version of Airport do you have? We can start from here as the Airport part is easy. Cheers Don

ftp access over airport and cable modem

Here's how I have mine set up... In my broadband router, for you it's your cable modem, I have the routing table set to forward all unsolicited packets to my Airport Base Station. In my Airport, I have port-mapping configured to forward all ftp traffic to my private server. This is assuming...

Terminal slow to launch (Continued from Classic forum)

Sorry about deleting the other thread... After I reset the pram I decided to sudo update_prebinding -root / again and the error reported by the console is below.... it doesn't actually crash the terminal but exits the sudo command with a bus error, also included below if it helps. Keep in...

Terminal slow to launch (Continued from Classic forum)

Howdy... Again, thanks for all the feedback. Disk usage is at around 50%, very few fonts and I'm on a G4 TiPB with 512 MB RAM. I've not installed anything that's not for OS X (no compiled unix apps). I've done everything that's been suggested and the only problem has been a crash during an...

Terminal slow to launch (Continued from Classic forum)

Because I'm not worthy and/or I'm an idiot... I started this thread in the MAC CLASSIC SYSTEM & SOFTWARE forum... My problem is this... My terminal app is taking a long time to load... painfully long. I've tried all sorts of things from updating my prebinding to stopping all non-critical...

    My Corporate Identity!

Howdy... Great start. I do have a couple of additions to the comments... 1) I like the consistency from page to page. Site visitors like to see their navigation in the same place and be familiar with it across your site. Nothing worse than having to find those kinds of things from page to...

    website...

It's a great start with lots of great feedback. About the only thing I can add would be to optimize the graphics to the smallest possible size by minimizing the color palet and saving it out at 100% of the size you'll use in your browser. For example... on Aunt Martha's site, the picture of the...

    Turning off the trackpad...

Yes, you're right. But... since I can more finely control an optical mouse and I do most of my work sitting in a cafe I would like to squeeze out as much life as possible from a battery. It was just a thought... too bad TrackPads don't work better. Cheers Don

    Turning off the trackpad...

Does anyone know how to turn off the trackpad on a TiPB? I'm sure it's sucking up power and since I use a USB mouse exclusively it might help extend the battery life between charges... any suggestions?

    ISDN router, your experience?

Acheron, I use a 3Com 3c892 ISDN Lan Modem without problems. I also have no problems with online games. I use a TiPB with an Airport Base Station patched to my ISDN adapter. Hope this helps... Don

    TiPB Paint Rubbing Off...

Just on the parts made of plastic or some other composite material. The titanium parts are fine. Is anyone else having this problem? Seems like with all the cool industrial design they could have picked a paint that would last longer than 6 months.
