    Microsoft erases Apple from Maps

    Well, then it's a non-story, I guess!

    Microsoft erases Apple from Maps

Do you guys know what an easter egg is? It's a little joke message or something hidden inside a program. Older Mac apps used to have them a lot, even though they were against company policy. The programmer might even face pretty hefty disciplinary action if they were caught. Something like...

Backup Exec - Enabling root access?

Are you serious? My guess is that you are a UNIX guy, well versed in the command-line-way-of-life. I am not. As far as uninstalling, I have no clue.

    Microsoft erases Apple from Maps

Fox News? Isn't that just an extension of the Vast Right-Wing Conspiracy? ;) Funny story, but I wouldn't care to speculate or care too much.

Can Apple Give a Straight Answer?

You guys worry too much. Just use it however best it suits YOUR needs. As for the state where the hard drives are spun down and the display is off, think of that mode as a person sitting still and closing your eyes for a minute.

    Apples marketshare

Gah! A new form of the "_Fryke_ Factor"! Using HTML markup instead of vB code? I thought you didn't want to be bothered with brackets and stuff like that! ;)

Steve calls father who's son died over an iPod

I don't doubt that the muggers placed a higher value on the iPod due to "iPod hysteria", but there's nothin' wrong with being cool and promoting the coolness factor of a product to sell more of them. The way you guys are talking is like people can't handle themselves... Obviously the muggers...

Woops, too late. Somebody already bought it through Buy It Now. Thanks for the response though. I guess it's never a bad idea to actually ask the seller... :)

Is this Final Cut Studio eBay listing legit?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=80245&item=5786389912 My bro's looking at purchasing either Final Cut Studio or Final Cut Pro 5. The eBay listing for Final Cut Studio is $450 less than Apple's list price, so obviously it's attractive. BUT, I know that eBay software is...

    Mac to use Intel Chips!

I agree with Jetwing X. I think this is all good news for non Mac users, and bad for Mac users (at least in the short to mid-term).

    Mac to use Intel Chips!

My just wife IM'd me this USA Today article, and she was worried about the part where software engineers would have to re-write their software to make it work with the new stuff. And please realize that my wife is not as much of a techno-nerd as I am. I'm worried now! :(

PHP question: text comparison in variable?

I'm just tweaking my PHP script now, and would like to detect whether a variable ($lodging_plan) includes the word "Delights". $lodging_plan is a radio button in this web form. I'm trying to figure out if PHP has any text handling functions. Basically, if $lodging_plan includes the word...

Awesome; I got it working well. I am definitely tipping to the right as far as left-brain / right-brain orientation goes... programming comes after GUI for me. Thanks for all the help!

PHP email form not returning multiple checkboxes

    Hmm, I hit another road bump. Here's the code:<?php // Variables from form input $customer_id_number = $_POST['customer_id_number']; $dropoff_date = $_POST['dropoff_date']; $pickup_date = $_POST['pickup_date']; $first_name = $_POST['first_name']; $last_name = $_POST['last_name']...

PHP email form not returning multiple checkboxes

PHP email form not returning multiple checkboxes

Hey, thanks for the tip, but I would rather have each checkbox values separated by commas on one line in my email (which may text-wrap), as opposed to having to hard code each service into my email template (which will grow to a very large email).

PHP email form not returning multiple checkboxes

I have a monster HTML form located here: http://www.stonemountainpetlodge.com/contact/registration_dog/email.html The checkboxes in question are located a bit down on the page, and start with Daily Brush, Frosty Paws Treat, Morning Walk, etc. Each checkbox is coded in this manner: <input...
