I am trying to install 10.3.3 on a blue and white g3 400 currently running 10.2.8. When I boot up from the install CD and go in to install it, everything seems to work except it does not show any destination drives at all. The firmware seems to be ok, I think, but my computer crashes whenever I try to run Apple System Profiler. However I didn't get the message to upgrade firmware anyway, so I am not sure that's an issue.
The whole reason for all this updating is that the machine has been very unstable lately and not starting properly. It takes several tries to get it to start and then it will run fine for a while, but if you shut down and try to restart, it might start up, or it might take 10 tries.
Any advice?
