Adding a third Hard Drive.....Newby Ques.

I have already installed a 200 gig drive in with the existing 80 gig, plus have added a SONNET Tempo ATA card to handle the bigger drive.

Is it possible to plug a new larger drive (120-300gig) on to the Sonnet Card and put the existing 80 gig back on the original card to gain a 3rd drive? or is there something else I need to do?

Thanks in Advance.
Sorry for the newby Ques. just better with programs then hardware. :(

Yep, you can do that, or you can connect all three hard drives to the Sonnet controller for maximum performance (you may need to purchase an inexpensive UltraATA ribbon cable to do so, unless you've got another one).

That's the way I've got it hooked up in my computer -- Sonnet Tempo ATA/100 PCI card running three hard drives, two on one ribbon and one on the other.

Cool, Really appreciate the info, it has been driving me crazy. I thought I might be able to, but was second guessing myself.....Thanks again

Hey guys, I have the Sonnet Tempo ATA-133 PCI card and it's been causing me kernel panics since upgrading to Tiger 10.4. It seems to happen when I wake the computer out of deep sleep. By the way, Tiger 10.4 is running on one of the drives (160 GB Western Digital) this is connected onto the Sonnet card.

Here's the panic.log :
