Adobe Audition type program for mac

Is there a comparable program for the mac, logic from apple is $1000, i am looking for something in the same range as audition $300. I am remastering old audio, removing clicks pops etc
 
Howabout Logic Express? It's $300. I don't know if it's got a similar feature set to Audition (ie. click/pop/hiss removal, etc.) but it seems to be a fairly good, solid program.

Also, Steinberg makes a program called Cubase in two or three different versions (Like Apple's Pro vs. Express software) that I hear was pretty popular in the past... haven't heard much about them since, but they've got native OS X versions of their software available:

do you know if that has pop/click removing capabilities and things like for restorative purposes?
 
Hmmm... that I do not know. I've been Googling for the past 10 minutes trying to find something with pop/hiss/click removal for OS X, but nothing's striking me as being feature-similar to Audition. BIAS also makes some good OS X audio software -- their SoundSoap software can remove hiss and crackle...

soundsoap looks pretty nice. I notice "Compatible RTAS, AU or VST host application"

what exactly is that, is that like logic express?

Those are kind of like PhotoShop's filter plug-ins, like EyeCandy and Kai's Power Tools.

AU is Audio Units, and I believe that Apple's Logic software is compatible with these... basically, those will allow you to get new instruments or filters or effects for your sounds.
